Our Minister, the Rev Bertram Mather
Rev Bertram Mather was a Methodist Minister in Sri Lanka from 1985, also serving as an army chaplain in the war zone, until 2000. On leaving Sri Lanka, Bertram completed a postgraduate degree in England, and since 2004 has been a Minister in the Uniting Church in Australia.
Rev Bertram Mather, his wife Stella and their son Sam live in the Auburn Manse. Bertram was inducted as the Minister in Placement at Auburn Uniting Church in March 2015, having previously served in Blackburn, Mernda, Bendigo and Oakleigh.
During his 32-year ministry Rev Bertram Mather has continued studying: gaining a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) from the University of Serampore (1989-93), and a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) from Birmingham University, UK (2000-02). At present he is reading for a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral and Spiritual Care at the University of Melbourne.

Rev Bertram Mather is presently on study leave and is engaged in a course of clinical pastoral education until the end of January.
